Wedding Photographers at The Weald of Kent
We first met Ben and Kelly and Kellys mum a year before their wedding, they came to visit us and chat about their plans for their wedding at the Weald of Kent. They were super excited and we could not wait to photograph their engagement shoot and wedding.
Their wedding was at the beginning of March with a surprise visitor “The Beast from the East” the week of their wedding gave us some heavy snow and amazing winter scenes. With the weather being as it was there was a worry that the wedding would be postponed, but Kelly decided that it would go ahead and the snow would add to the fun of the day. With the weather being so unpredictable there were some changes to the day, in that Kelly had to change her hair appointment to a different hairdresser. They did an amazing job at such short notice, but unfortunately this was not done at the venue. Although we were not needed for hair and make up photographs due to the short notice changes, we arrived to the venue in plenty of time and used this opportunity to take photographs of Ben and his best man preparing the wedding venue.
The staff at the Weald of Kent were wonderful and had everything under control and even helped decorate their wedding cake, which was a plain cake from Marks and Spencer (who make the scrummiest cakes)
After having their hair and make up done locally, Kelly and her bridal party arrived to the venue to make their preparations. They had a room at the hotel within the grounds and all got ready there, this was perfect as they did not have to worry about travelling between a ceremony and reception venue.
Kelly was escorted by her proud dad down the aisle to Ben who was nervously waiting, a wonderful ceremony followed and the couple did not stop smiling. Straight after the ceremony, we all went outside for some group photographs. It was a little chilly but we worked quickly through them even taking some with the family dogs, who were so well behaved and super cute. We then took the happy couple out onto the grounds for some couples photos, not before Kelly changed into her rigger boots! They were a wonderful couple to shoot and were more than happy to walk about in the snow for some amazing photographs. They were at ease with the camera thanks to them choosing to have an engagement shoot, which prepared them for the wedding.
Some lovely speeches were made before the sumptuous wedding breakfast, which was the most wonderful carvery. They cut their cake on the dancefloor with everyone watching plus the flowergirl making sure it was cut correctly!. Kelly and Ben are a super fun couple and this reflected in their wedding reception, with a fab sweetie bar and glow sticks, a festival facepainter plus a fun game of Mr and Mrs.
Kelly danced with her dad first, and then with her husband, which was followed by everyone joining them on the dance floor. The staff throughout the day were wonderful and even got their faces painted, they make a wonderful team who could not have done a better job. At the end of the evening, after Kelly and the best man finished playing a game (I have never seen so many sherbert flying saucers fit in someones mouth at the same time) we took them outside for a few last photos in the dark, these made some stunning wedding photographs.
We had a wonderful time as wedding photographers at the Weald of Kent and were honoured to be a part of this special day.
